This is a genuine antique mask in the theatrical dance mask Javanese tradition. It represents a dukun, an Indonesian term for shaman. A dukun societal role is that of a traditional healer, spirit medium, custom and tradition expert –Â Â and on occasion sorcerer and master of black magic.
This authentic antique mask has been actively used many decades ago in traditional dance open-air performances – and shows the wear and tear of its usage age. Please view all of the photos with respect to presenting its condition.
