This very heavy Blencong Lantern is a heritage artefact made of finest bronze. Blencong is a coconut oil lighting device, and an essential part of  Wayang Kulit shadow puppet performances. The lamp is suspended over the puppeteers head behind the screen so that the shadows of the puppets are projected onto the reverse side of the screen facing the audience.
This finest bronze lantern is in excellent condition considering its age and usage.
