This mirror with handle is to be enjoyed as a nice historical pieces of ancient Indonesian history. It was excavated in an area of the former Majapahit Empire in Eastern Java. Many bronze artefacts are incidental finds by farmers agricultural activities – or unearthed by diggers who dig pits panning the alluvial soil for gold.
The mirror could very possibly be from the earlier Kediri Kingdom which was a Hindu Buddhist Javanese kingdom centred in the ancient city Dahanapura (Daha) East Java from 1042 to around 1222.
The mirror with handle has an aqua green patina. It shows signs of erosion having been under the ground for many centuries. Please view all of the photos…
