This Thai Standing Theppanom statue is exquisitely carved, painted, and bejeweled by an artisan schooled by the renowned Thai master craftsman Khun Praphan Kantiyat.
Khun Praphan started carving Buddha’s and statues over 40 years ago. This statue’s meticulous and precise ornamental detail results from his research and historical knowledge of ancient carvings. The sculptures replicate original antique statues exhibited in museums and temples of Southeast Asia.
This statue is a handmade replica and will differ slightly from the original antique. It is exported with a Permit under a License provided by The Thailand Fine Arts Department.
Statues are carved from Acacia (Monkey) wood. Before finishing, partially carved statues undergo hot room treatment for seven days to rid the wood of borers and insects.
