• Bhumisparsha Mudra is the most common pose that represents an earth-touching gesture. By touching the earth, this posture is known as ‘Calling The Earth to Witness’ and defines the moment of enlightenment for the Buddha.

This life-size sitting Buddha statue is exquisitely carved, painted, and bejeweled by an artisan schooled by the renowned Thai master craftsman Khun Praphan Kantiyat.

Khun Praphan started carving Buddha statues over 40 years ago. This statue’s meticulous and precise ornamental detail results from his research and historical knowledge of ancient Buddha carvings. The sculptures replicate original antique statues exhibited in museums of Southeast Asian temples.

The statue is a handmade replica and will differ slightly from the original antique Buddha. It is exported with a Permit under a License by The Thailand Fine Arts Department.

Statues are carved from Acacia (Monkey) wood. Before finishing, partially carved statues undergo hot room treatment for seven days to rid the wood of borers and insects.
